About the Faculty

Faculty of Built and Natural Environment comes with experts in sustainable development and management of the built environment and natural resources, especially wood. It was established in the year 2011 and has since been involved in producing technically-skilled and technologically oriented graduates. The Faculty has produced cutting-edge research in the areas of sustainable construction, infrastructure investment, housing micro financing, facilities management, and forestry and sustainable wood management. The objectives of the Faculty are to:

  • Produce highly technically skilled and technologically oriented graduates needed for industry and public service

  • Modernize existing academic programmes and establish new undergraduate and postgraduate programmes

  • Build strong partnerships with the industry and relevant international institutions

  • Improve the quality of teaching and learning through partnerships with industry

  • To improve research output rate and quality through institutional and departmental collaborations

  • Pursue strategic staff academic and professional development
