Following the winding up of diploma programmes in the Universities due to the upgrading of Polytechnics into tertiary status, Kumasi Technical University, (then Kumasi Polytechnic) through the Department of Estate Management was given the mandate to run a Higher National Diploma awarding programme in Estate Management in the 1995/96 academic year. The Department was initially under the School of Business. However, with restructuring, it currently falls under the Faculty of Built and Natural Environment and is in its 28th year since its inception.
Presently, the Department is running 2 programmes
- 3-year Higher National Diploma (HND) in Estate Management
- 2-year Bachelor of Technology (BTech) in Estate Management
